Nervous System Makeup
Our nervous system is made up of two different areas they’re the central nervous system CNS and the peripheral nervous system PNS. The CNS consists of the brain and spinal cord.
This is where the neurotransmitters, chemicals in our brain send signals from one neuron to another. This signal travels up the spinal cord to the brain.
The brain stores the message and instructs the body on what it should do. The central nervous system’s also responsible for your muscle contraction, which causes movement and the secretions of various hormone glands.
The PNS receives its input from the skin, organs and tissues. It’s in charge of our involuntary movements, like breathing, heart rate, blood flow and digestion. In addition, it’s responsible for hearing and sight.
The Nervous System Tortures
There are numerous signs and symptoms of nerve damage. The severity depends on the particular disorder. Some include; weakness, muscle atrophy, pain, twitching, numbness, tingling, burning, increased sensitivity and paralysis.
A person can sweat excessively, or very little. They can have incontinence and erectile dysfunction. Some people may experience several of these symptoms at the same time.
Nervous System Instigators
Some things that might cause damage to the nervous system include; trauma, injury, diabetes, cancer, drug toxicity, illegal drug use, autoimmune diseases, neuron diseases, carpal tunnel and IBS.
Treatments like chemo and radiation can cause nerve damage. So can ingestion of harmful toxins, like arsenic, lead and mercury.
If a person lacks certain vitamins in their diet they can have symptoms of nervous system disorders. This’s especially true with the B vitamins.
Electrolyte depletion can also cause this to occur, particular potassium. Other things that can cause nervous system disorders are; excessive alcohol use and nutritional deficiencies after gastric surgery.
Diseases like herpes virus, HIV, hepatitis C and Lyme disease can also cause damage to the nervous system.
Eating to Reduce Pain
Doctors advise a person eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. These foods have a lot of essential vitamins. They also have antioxidants, and anti- inflammatory qualities.
The antioxidants will get rid of the harmful toxins in your body, while the anti-inflammatory agents will reduce swelling. The removal of harmful toxins and inflammation will decrease pain levels.
Other things that help chronic pain include; a multiple vitamin. Be sure it has the adequate amount of B vitamins. This vitamin helps with brain functions, prevents nerve damage and protects the sheath which covers the nerve endings.
They also help with depression, anxiety, learning and memory functions. It does this by helping the body create a chemical known as acetylcholine. This helpful chemical assists with the nervous system development and soft tissue repair.
Your body needs adequate amount of vitamin C. This vitamin helps boost the immune system, and it helps with body absorb and use of vitamin B. Biotin is also needed for adequate use of Vitamin B. You can find biotin in any food that originated from plants. There is also supplements.
Other things that help is non-active yeast flakes, spiraling. Omega 3, whole grains, wheat germ celery, avocado, lettuce, carrots, pumpkin and blueberries. Almond and sesame seeds are a good source of calcium.
You can also find calcium in dairy and some fortified foods, Pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds contain a lot of magnesium. Both help with nerve function.
The Painful Food Choices
There is an exception to the vegetables and they are the nightshade vegetables this includes; eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes, cayenne pepper, paprika, tabasco sauce, both sweet and hot peppers.
These foods contain alkaloids which increase pain sensitivity. They also create a lot of digestive issues for people who suffer with GERD and other digestive disorders.
Two other harmful choices are caffeine and nicotine. Both are central nervous system stimulants. Caffeine and alcohol reduce the use of B1 and essential minerals. Doctors suggest to drink an herbal tea and water.
Other things you should avoid is sugars and processed foods. They contain Trans fats, saturated fats and additives, which are known to stimulate the nervous system. Some people find that eggs, wheat and citrus fruits increase their pain.
Doctors also suggest getting plenty of rest. Make sure you have the most restful sleep during the hours that count the most they are ten pm until two in the morning.
They also suggest to take a nap in the afternoon, because when you’re tired, your pain and fatigue will increase.
Meditation and yoga also seem to help people with nervous disorders. All it takes is ten minutes a day of relaxing deep breathing.
Yoga helps relieves pain, stress, fatigue and anxiety. It’s also thought to help cure some medical aliments. A warm bath often helps ease muscle pain.
This is especially true if you use your favorite scented oil for instance; frankincense, geranium, chamomile or my personal favorite lavender. These oils can also be used in a gentle massage.
Some believe that walking barefoot outdoors, will reduce the amount of negative energy built up during the day. This discharging will relax your nerve endings and help you get a restful sleep.
Of course, there are various herbs to help with nervous system disorders. Many will repair and restore nerve damage. They will also help reduce pain and swelling.
Hobbies that are both pleasurable and relaxing are often found very useful. Puzzles makes a person use logic, reasoning, perhaps you’ll use a little math.
This not only improves memory, it helps the impulses in your brain send and receive messages about other things, besides pain and discomfort. So sit down and read a good book, or dance to your favorite music. Your pain receptors will thank you for it.

Eating right and taking a multivitamin is found to be very beneficial. So is things like hot bath, meditation, yoga a relaxing hobby and a good night’s sleep.
Of course we need to stay away from nervous system stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and processed foods.
